Pets 🐾

You can tame almost any mob in the game and turn it into your very own companion! Level it up, teach it new powers, and adventure together. 🌟

Good to know before you start: Pets work in all survival worlds and the Creative World — but they won't gain experience in Creative. They don't follow you into Skyblock. You can have up to 45 pets saved, but only one follows you at a time!
⚠️ Already have a pet? Type /petstore to put it away before taming a new one — you can't tame while a pet is active. (/petsendaway won't work, only /petstore.) To bring a stored pet back, use /petswitch.

How to Get a Pet

1
Find your future pet!
Browse the tables below and pick a mob you want. Each one has different requirements — read carefully before you go hunting!
2
Meet the requirement
Most mobs just need to be weakened — hit them until they're low on health. Others like horses and wolves need to be tamed the normal Minecraft way first. Make sure you've used /petstore to put away any existing pet!
3
Left-click to claim it!
Hold a lead and left-click the mob. The gold comes right out of your balance automatically — the lead stays in your hand. It's yours!
4
Choose how your pet grows
Type /pcst and a menu will pop up. You're picking what kind of companion your pet becomes — one you can ride, one that fights for you, one that protects the whole group, or one that causes chaos. Your pet won't level up at all until you pick, so don't skip this!
5
Take care of your new best friend 🐾
Keep your pet fed and it stays happy! Feed it by right-clicking while holding the right food (listed in the tables below). Give it a cool name with /petname, and use /petcall if it ever wanders off.
/petstore Put your pet away — required before taming a new one
/petswitch Bring back a stored pet — opens a list of all your tamed pets so you can pick one
/pcst Choose how your pet will grow and what it can do
/petcall Teleport your pet to you if it wanders off
/petname <name> Give your pet a name
/pethealth Check your pet's health and hunger level
/petinventory Open your pet's backpack (Explorer path only)
/petrelease Release your pet back into the wild

How Will Your Pet Grow?

After taming your pet, type /pcst and a menu will pop up. You're choosing what kind of companion it becomes — and that changes everything about how it plays. Take a look at the four options below and pick whatever sounds most fun. This choice is permanent — once you pick a skill tree for a pet, it's locked in. Choose wisely! (If you want a different tree, tame a new pet.)
🗡️ Companion
  • Gets stronger and tougher as it levels up
  • Heals itself over time without you doing anything
  • Hits back at anything that attacks it
  • At level 10: absorbs a hit for you — grants Absorption I when you take damage
  • At level 25: passive Haste I — always active just from being nearby
  • At level 50: when you drop below half health, your pet rallies — grants Strength I and Speed I
  • At level 75: rushes to your side and grants Regeneration when you're in danger
🐎 Explorer
  • You can ride your pet from level 1! Right-click to hop on
  • Carries a backpack that grows as it levels — up to 4 rows of storage by level 60
  • Automatically picks up items you drop on the ground
  • At level 25: your pet's presence gives you Speed I — great for exploring
  • At level 50: grants Night Vision so you can always see in the dark
  • At level 75: your pet can fly! 🚀
🛡️ Guardian
  • Gets a huge amount of health — basically a walking shield
  • Hits back when attacked, and can slow down anything it touches
  • At level 10: starts buffing nearby players with Strength I
  • At level 25: aura also grants Regeneration to everyone nearby
  • At level 50: aura pulses outward in a wide radius — always active
  • At level 75: adds Resistance I to the aura, and taunts nearby enemies to attack your pet instead of you when you take a hit
  • Best choice if you play in a group — just walk into a fight together
⚡ Trickster
  • Sets enemies on fire at level 5 🔥
  • Poisons enemies at level 15 ☠️
  • Calls down lightning at level 30 ⚡
  • Makes enemies slowly wither away at level 50, then learns a ground-shaking stomp at level 60!
  • At level 10: passive Fire Resistance — you don't burn
  • At level 30: passive Strength I — you hit harder alongside your pet
  • At level 50: Speed I when you take a hit — chaos energy in action
  • At level 75: Berserker — Strength II + Speed II when you're low on health

All Tameable Pets

How do I tame it? Look for the colored badge on each pet card — it tells you what to do:

🟢 Weaken it first — hit the mob a few times to lower its health, then left-click it while holding a lead. Don't worry about being too precise — just get it low enough and the game will handle the rest!
🔵 Tame first — some animals (like wolves, horses, and cats) need to be tamed the normal Minecraft way before they can become a pet. Feed or ride them first, then left-click while holding a lead.
🟠 Build it — build the mob yourself (like stacking iron blocks with a carved pumpkin for an Iron Golem), then left-click it while holding a lead.
Common Pets — 25g to tame
20 base HP — easy to find, cheap to tame. Great starter pets.

If your pet dies, don't panic! It comes back after a short cooldown. It's not gone forever! 😊 A pet that hasn't eaten in a while will get hungry but it can't actually die of hunger — it just gets a little less effective until you feed it.
